Life is strange…There was a point where I thought that Tap It Games is a goner and it’s time to call it quits. All that was happening around me throughout 2017 was screaming ‘Don’t be a fool. This ain’t going to work. You’re wasting your time.’
But I’m stupid and stupid people are often stubborn.
I decided that having my own office, peripherals, computers, licenses and business contacts is a great value that most people don’t have access to. It was something I could use to build TIG from scratch again. And so I did.
After leaving One More Level I had many ideas on how to transform what I had into something measurable. The challenge was it would took a lot of time to find people who think the same way I did. It drove me into various directions which happened to be overwhelming for one person restarting a development studio. My idea was to transform Tap It Games into a publishing house with optimal amount of effort. But as we learn throughout our lives, the amount of effort needed to build something is always bigger than we anticipate. My case was no different.
As one of two people responsible for kickstarting the publishing house, I had to spread my energy in many directions at once and expand my knowledge on the game development industry vastly. My tasks included creating legal agreements, negotiating with developers, performing creative work, giving sophisticated feedback to developers on their projects and much more. This was too much for one person to handle as my partner had got involved with another company.
In July 2017 I finally had decided that I wanted to create my own project with the limited resources I had. I contacted my friend who wanted to begin his journey with game development, and so we began working on Star Swapper full time for a couple of months.
Star Swapper’s development process deserves a separate story which me and our current Tap It Games team will share with you shortly in future posts.
We have established new communication channels for you as well. You can follow us on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Youtube for fresh news on what Tap It Games is up to. Please find the social media links below.
Also, check out 9 Clues part one and two on Steam and add Star Swapper to your wish list. It’s a cool puzzler that might just test your patience and problem solving skills.
Cheers,
Daniel
